Due to the Rail Strikes, sadly our Annual Convocation could not be held with the same grandeur that we usually witness in the Grand Temple at Great Queen Street. However, at short notice the provincial team did manage to organise a smaller meeting at Halsey Hall, Cheshunt with 119 attending the meeting and 96 dining.
The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent welcomed no fewer than 10 heads of other Orders in Hertfordshire and 15 Danish Companions from four Chapters that have transferred their meeting place to Denmark.
The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent was please to appoint and promote Companions to the honours they had so well earned – 13 re-appointments to active rank, 18 new appointments to active rank, 16 promotions and 15 receiving their 1st honours.

“With only two weeks to go before the Annual Convocation, the devastating blow that the train strike would disrupt the day, threw out all the hard work that had been completed throughout the year by the Provincial Team. However, they all rallied around and ‘pulled out the stops’, working tirelessly to ensure that we had an Annual Convocation of which we could all be proud! An excellent Convocation befitting all those being appointed, promoted and honoured followed by a successful and memorable festive board.”
David Hampton, Deputy Grand Superintendent
